Common questions
Answers to what people ask before they reach out.
Do you take my insurance?
Eventide is out of network, which means Dr. Bellamy doesn't bill insurance directly. Many plans reimburse part of an out-of-network session. Eventide does not bill Medicare or Medi-Cal. How fees work explains the rest.
What is a superbill, and can I use it?
A superbill is an itemized receipt that you can send to your plan to ask for reimbursement. You get one each month. It includes a diagnosis code, which your insurer sees, and your plan decides what, if anything, it pays. Ask your plan before you start.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive an estimate of what care will cost before you start. Dr. Bellamy gives you one in writing, and it is not a contract.
How much does it cost, and how do fees work?
The fee for a session is given to you in writing before you start. How fees work covers insurance, paying yourself, receipts and estimates.
Can I use an HSA or FSA card?
Yes. Health savings and flexible spending cards work like any other card for sessions.
What happens in the first session?
You and Dr. Bellamy talk about what is changing in your life and what you want from the work. She explains how privacy and fees work. You decide at the end whether to book another. Your first session has the full picture.
How often will we meet, and for how long?
A session is 50 minutes, usually weekly at first. Your clinician sets the pace with you, and you can change it as the work changes.
Are you licensed where I live?
Dr. Bellamy is licensed in California. For video sessions you need to be in California at the time of the session.
What do I do in a crisis?
Call or text 988, any time, or call 911 in an emergency. Eventide's website and voicemail are not monitored around the clock, so please don't use them for anything urgent. Crisis and resources has more.
What is confidential, and what are the limits?
What you say in sessions is private. The limits are the ones the law sets: a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, suspected abuse of a child or an elder, and a court order. Dr. Bellamy explains them in the first session.
Can you see my teen?
Dr. Bellamy sees adults, age 18 and older. If you are looking for care for a teen, your pediatrician or your school can suggest where to start.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or move a session. A session cancelled with less notice is charged the session fee. If something urgent comes up, tell Dr. Bellamy and she will work it out with you.
